Bonjour,

You can travel from Reims to Verdun, a transfer will be necessary in Châlons en Champagne.

I learned that the train goes to the Meuse TGV station and then you must take a bus. What is the frequency of the buses or do they meet each train?

There's only one possibility each day for travelling through Meuse TGV, it is in the evening and from Champagne Ardenne TGV, à train station south of Reims. Much more trips through Chalons en Champagne are available.

The buses are part of the regional network, their schedules are made to connect with trains, and you can buy your ticket for the bus at the same time you buy your ticket for the train.

You should use a travel agency website to see what are the schedule and prices for the day you want to travel, for example with Capitaine Train https://www.capitainetrain.com/welcome/0cca2a

Merci Matieu. This is the last segment that I had a problem with. I was surprised that there are so few trains from Paris to Vernon - just early morning & evening for the return. I thought they might be all day long.

Be careful, Vernon is a different city from Verdun, and they are not at all close to each other!

Which day do you plan to travel from Reims to Verdun?

We are traveling from Paris to Vernon/Giverny on Monday Sept. 8. Then on Wednesday, we had wanted to visit Reims & then go on to Verdun. We may have to miss Reims and take the train from Paris to Metz & then on to Verdun.
I wanted to purchase my entire itinerary, but the summer schedules that I was working with for the last 2 months have changed now that I can see the September schedules. Also, for some reason, I cannot yet purchase my ticket for Carcassonne to Barcelona.

The rail europe site doesn't display routes between Reims & Verdun. I have to break the trip into parts. Should I just buy my tickets through SNCF instead of rail europe?

I'm not sure if you received my response to your last question. I realized that Vernon & Verdun are different. I am traveling from Paris to Vernon/Giverny on Sept. 8 & then Paris/Reims/Verdun on Sept. 9.

I am receiving your responses with a slight delay, they need to be validated by the website staff before they appear.

July/August (summer holidays in France) and September schedule are different, that's right.

Trains from Carcassonne to Barcelona are currently not available for booking since the exact schedule is not available yet.

I would recommend that you book through Capitaine Train, see link above.

Merci Mathieu, Your answers have been very helpful.

The Capitaine Train website had the trips that I wanted. I was able to add Reims to our itinerary again, since I was able to book a trip between Reims & Verdun - which I couldn't do on Rail Europe. Thanks again.

That's why I recommend them :)
You're welcome, enjoy your trip!
