Bringing a bicycle on Intercites 3657 and TER 68209

May I bring a bicycle on Intercites 3657 (from Paris to Limoges) and on TER 68209 (from Limoges to Perigueux)? If so, is there an extra charge? Should I purchase my tickets in advance for travel on June 20? Does my bike have to be in a "housse" or can I just hang it up on hooks in the baggage car? Thank you.

Dear Susan,

In the TER trains (in this case TER Limousin), you can bring your bicycle without any problem, it's a FREE service. You may keep it in a bike bag and let it in the luggage van on the train (Bikes are considerated as luggages).

However, in the Intercités train, you must book the reservation for your bike because we are never sure if they are places or not. It will cost 10€ because it's an "intercités de jour" from Paris to Limoges, and with a final stop in Perpignan.

Of course, you can buy your tickets in advance for your travel, you will pay less now than if you buy your ticket on the day you are travelling.

For more informations in English, you can go, if you want, to this website of the SNCF which is done for the bikes in the trains :

I hope that I was able to help you and I wish you an excellent travel in our trains and country.

Best regards.

Hello Susan

If your bike is disassembled in a transport bag, you can travel without "extracharge" in the train "intercité"

If you don't use a bag you will need to pay a special ticket if your train accept bikes
